Q. Why is he a fox, not firefox?

A. Since the motif of the Firefox logo is fox.

Q. What kind of fox is he?

A. He is not based on any particular kind of fox.

Q. Is he an official mascot of Mozilla Firefox?

A. No, he is not. Foxkeh is a mascot character for Firefox promotions organized by Mozilla Japan. He is not a mascot character of the product called Mozilla Firefox.

Q. Will the Mozilla Firefox log and icons be changed ones based on Foxkeh?

A. No, he is not. Foxkeh is a mascot character for Firefox promotions organized by Mozilla Japan. He will not appear either in the default theme or icons of the Firefox product.

Q. Who created him?

A. He was created by a Mozilla Japan staff.

Q. What is the flame on his back?

A. The flame is Foxkeh's tail. The whole tail is drawn as a flame.

You can:

• create your own Firefox promotion banner with distributed materials, and paste it on your own web site;
• create your own Firefox theme with the Foxkeh image, and register the theme for Mozilla Add-ons;
• create a Foxkeh animation, and publish it on your web site;
• create Foxkeh stickers and give them your friends for free; and
• use a wall paper with the Foxkeh image for a computer you use for your business.

You can not:

• publish Foxkeh images without the copy right notices;
• create Foxkeh key rings, and sell them at actual cost; and
• print Foxkeh images on commercial magazines/books, and sell them.

Q. Can I modify the image?

A. You can, as long as the modified image can be identified as Foxkeh.

Q. Can I use images consist with modified elements at my Web site?

A. There is no restriction in the use of images such as banners with distributed elements at general web sites. In doing so, please put the credit with necessary information on either the same page or the web site information page. You cannot use the images at commercial sites.

Q. Can I distribute wall papers or icons consist with modified elements at my Web site?

A. You may distribute the results made with the distributed elements within the scope of the above conditions. However, please include the specified credit in the visual images, such as images or animations. If it is difficult to include the credit into the work, put the credit into the distribution page or attached documents.

Q. Can I create goods of this character with the elements?

A. You may create and distribute works composed with the distributed elements as long as they are distributed without any charge. Please do not distribute them commercially. Also, when creating works, please make sure to put the credit with necessary information close to the character.

Q. Can I sell wallpapers, icons, or character goods?

A. Any works based on the distributed elements can be distributed as long as it is free of charge. Please do not use the character if you are to receive even the actual expenses.

Q. Can I draw this character without using the distributed elements?

A. You can draw anything, such as this character's portrait. And you can freely create and distribute images like image elements, wallpapers, and icons, or visual work such as animations, or goods based on the result. However, if the character in the resulting work can easily be identified with the Foxkeh based on the design, it is regarded that Foxkeh is used. Therefore, please follow the conditions below when publishing the work at your web site or distribute the work.

• Please do not use the images such as banners bearing the pattern of the character within the commercial sites like shopping sites.
• If the work is images or visual images, please put the credit with necessary information, or put the credit into the distribution page or attache documents.
• If the work is goods, please put the credit with necessary information close to the character.
• The distribution is allowed only if it is free of charge. Please do not use the character if you are to receive even the actual expenses.

Q. Can I make a 3 dimensional model of this character?

A. When you make a 3 dimensional model such as a stuffed animal or figure model, it is regarded as the same as creating the portrait. Please follow the conditions explained in the previous section. For more details, please read the previous section.

A. When you make 3DCG of Foxkeh, it is regarded as the same as creating the portrait. For more details, please read the section.

Q. What should I include for the credit notice?

A. The credit indicates necessary information of the work including the name of the work, the date of publish or creation, the name of the copyright holder, and the name of distributors. Please include the credit with the following information when you publish and distribute the works composed with the distributed elements and the works which can easily be determined as the same character as Foxkeh based on its design:

• the date of publication of the distributed elements or character (the publication year of the character is 2006.);
• the name of the copyright holder (Mozilla Japan);
• the name of the character (Foxkeh) (the title of the distributed elements is not necessary.).

A. The above restrictions are for publication and distribution of the works. Therefore, they are not applied unless you publish or distribute the works which are composed with the distributed elements or created by drawing the portrait of Foxkeh.

Q. I want to use Foxkeh in a way it is prohibited in this document.
